Interiors’ is a new body of work that seeks to stimulate the senses. The composition emerges through layered surfaces introducing veils of quiet colour that gradually define familiar, everyday objects, keeping the tempo slow until the painting reaches its own point of stillness.
Although human form is absent, these intimate ‘private rooms’ suggest a place for contemplation; a space to trigger memory and dreams and a space where personal narratives unfold. My practice takes me on a journey yet returns me again and again to the enigmatic world of painting, a little like love really, anything can happen.
